SGT Nutter 5K Run

The 2nd Annual SGT Nutter 5K Run – 20 May 2006

The second annual Sergeant Nutter 5K Run in memory of SGT Sam Nutter (28 Jan ’66 – 2 Jan ’05) will be held on May 20, 2006. He was a member of the NJ Army National Guard and served in the U.S. Navy from 1989-1997. He is survived by his wife Michelle Mallozzi-Nutter and three daughters, Summer Ann, Samantha, and Sarah.

Funds raised during this event are donated to a NJ Army National Guard family in need.
This year’s recipient will be Ashleigh Ryann Gwin, daughter of 1LT Howard and Michelle Gwin of C-5/117th CAV. 1LT Gwin is currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and his two year old daughter, Ashleigh, has been diagnosed with Krabbe Disease, a rare genetic disorder that affects the central and peripheral nervous systems. She has received chemotherapy, a cord blood transplant, and currently receives intense therapies. She must travel to Duke University in North Carolina for follow-up care and treatment. All ages are welcome and 45 prizes will be presented to winners in various categories. Loan Forgiveness in PA

The Pennsylvania higher Education Assistance Agency is now offering a loan program to recognize courage and dedication of servicemen and women who served in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. The Armed Forces Loan Forgiveness Program provides:

1. a one time loan forgiveness benefit up to $2500.00 for student borrowers who served in the Armed Forces in an active duty status between September 11, 2001 and June 30, 2006.

2. Have an eligible loan or loans

3. Must hold one of four connections to Pennsylvania:

a. currently a resident of PA,

b. a non-resident of PA who left a PA approved institution of post secondary education due to a call to active duty

c. a non-resident of PA who was living in PA at the time of enlistment

d. a non-resident of PA who enlisted in the military immediately after attending a PA approved institution of post-secondary education

HELP NEEDED FOR SOLDIERS IN THEATER

Hello everyone;

I have just received a phone call that 2 units out of Lawrenceville, who just got into afganistan had ALL their items stolen out of the containers that were shipped there...These soldiers have nothing but the clothes on their backs right now...We are meeting tomorrow at 11:30 am at the Toms River Armory to pack boxes and ship them to the soldiers....There are a total of 120 soldiers there....If you would like to come and help, or bring something to pack in the boxes, they need everything, it would be greatly appreciated...The more people we have the faster we can get these boxes out and to the PO and sent to them....PLEASE email me at njamazonchic@hotmail.com if you need more information, I will be checking the account frequesntly.
