Loan Forgiveness in PA

The Pennsylvania higher Education Assistance Agency is now offering a loan program to recognize courage and dedication of servicemen and women who served in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. The Armed Forces Loan Forgiveness Program provides:

1. a one time loan forgiveness benefit up to $2500.00 for student borrowers who served in the Armed Forces in an active duty status between September 11, 2001 and June 30, 2006.

2. Have an eligible loan or loans

3. Must hold one of four connections to Pennsylvania:

a. currently a resident of PA,

b. a non-resident of PA who left a PA approved institution of post secondary education due to a call to active duty

c. a non-resident of PA who was living in PA at the time of enlistment

d. a non-resident of PA who enlisted in the military immediately after attending a PA approved institution of post-secondary education
