This is critical to pass through your leadership. TRS (Tricare Reserve Select) is an option for your soldier to buy into that were activated in support of a Contingency Operation since Sep 11, 2001.

Please ensure leadership distributes this information to ALL soldiers involved and/or interested in applying. In addition, attached is the
DD Form 2895/Service Agreement the soldiers are required to fill out. FYI, they must keep a copy for their records. It is a two part form, the back consisting of instructions on how to fill it out. To enter into this Service Agreement, the soldiers must do it through the Guard-Reserve portal at the following address: https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/Guard-ReservePortal.

Coverage starting dates vary, and is explained in more detail below. Primarily, soldiers who leave Active Duty on or after 27 Apr 05 are eligible for coverage to continue the FIRST DAY AFTER their Transitional Assistance (TAMP) coverage ends.

Once the soldier purchases the benefit (TRS), they will receive a letter from TRICARE to welcome them in the program. In addition, they will also receive wallet cards with important information regarding contact numbers, etc.

As this office receives periodically updates on this program, you will all be informed in a timely manner.
